Correct Your Recitation (53)

The characteristics of the letters: The Meeting of Two Letters (Part 53)

On with Surat An-Naba’, and exactly from the 17th verse to the end of the surah (chapter), Sheikh Muhammad Salah resumes, with his guests, reciting the verses of the thirtieth part of the Qur’an known as juz’ `Amma, elaborately explaining their Arabic terms, meanings and connotations in English.

Concerning characteristics of the Arabic letters, in the second part of the episode Sheikh Salah tackles another rule of recitation: the meeting of two letters; when two same letters meet and succeed each other.

The first case is when the two letters  are consecutive, identical.

The second is when having two letters similar to each other (in articulation), but still different in their characteristics.
