Forget and Forgive

Welcome to this quick note with Sheikh Hamzah Tzortziz who talks about the noble character of the Muslim in light of the conversation between the Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) and his father, Prophet Jacob (peace be upon him).

Sheikh Hamzah begins his talk by giving a definition to the characteristic ‘Ihsan’. Noble people are those who have good characters for the sake of Allah not for the sake of their egos, social pleasures, or anybody else. Then, he gives us some advice to help us reach this state of being noble ‘muhsinun’.

Almighty Allah says:

And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, “O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before. My Lord has made it reality. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from Bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise. (Yusuf 12:100)

Sheikh Hamzah reflects on that verse showing the gems that can be learned from the wise words of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) to his family after they had arrived in Egypt.

Enjoy watching this interesting talk with Sheikh Hamzah Tzortziz to know that one of the greatest characters of a Muslim is to forget and forgive.
