Become Students of the Qur’an

In this short talk, Sheikh Nouman Khan reflects on two verses from Surat Ar-Rahman (the 55th Chapter of the Qur’an which had been revealed in Makkah and it talks about the countless blessings of Allah that He has bestowed upon the Human beings) as he highlights the necessity of learning and reflecting on the Qur’an. The Almighty Allah says:

…Taught the Qur’an, Created man. (Ar-Rahman 55:2-3)

Sheikh Nouman begins this talk by explaining the meaning of the word ‘insan’, Ibn Al-Faris said that this word may has two meanings:

1- It could be originated from the word ‘nasiya’ which means that human beings are very forgetful.

2- It could be originated from the word ‘uns’ which means that human beings are very loving.

If we take a deep look in the Qur’an, we find that it is full of the verses that always remind the human beings with their duty toward their Lord as forgetfulness is their nature.
